1. Nurses & Midwives Health and Teachers Health on 1 January 2022. all Nurses & Midwives Health members will be issued a new membership card from 4 July 2022. Their old cards will no longer be able to be used for claiming after this time.
HICAPS will be turned off for Nurses & Midwives Health members between 8.30pm on Thursday 30 June 2022 and 5pm on Sunday 3 July 2022.
During this time, electronic claiming through HICAPS will not be possible for Nurses & Midwives Health members. Members will instead be required to pay for their claim upfront and manually submit their claim for a rebate.
2. CMBA has updated the web content of revised Code of Conduct. It can be accessed on the shared Code of conduct page on the Ahpra website https://www.ahpra.gov.au/About-Ahpra/Translations.aspx The new resources include:a) Case studies for practitioners
- Information for the public – What is the shared Code of conduct? Also translated into Arabic, Chinese (simplified), Greek, Italian and Vietnamese and published on the Ahpra Translations page (we are developing an Easy English version which will be published soon), https://www.ahpra.gov.au/Resources/Code-of-conduct/Shared- Code-of-conduct.aspx and c) Case studies for the public.

Speaker: Dr. Xiang Xin Huang
Speaker Profile: 1978-1983 Graduated from the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
1983-1994: Cheif physicianin, of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai
From 1994 to present, she has been working at the Chinese Medicine Clinic in Melbourne, Australia, as a registered Chinese medicine practitioner and acupuncturist of CMBA.
In 2016, Chief physician of traditional Chinese medicine awarded by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies.
She has published papers in the conference proceedings of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and the annual conference of CMASA.
Content introduction: Dr Huang will Summarise many years of her clinical experience in the treatment of gynecological diseases in traditional Chinese medicine.
Bring together acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine and diet therapy to treat menopausal syndrome and menstrual disease and other gynecological diseases.
Topic 2: CM Clinical Experience of Intractable Insomnia
Speaker: Dr. Kang Zhou
Speaker profile: Dr. Zhou Kang is currently the president of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Society of Australia (CMASA). He has more than 50 years of clinical experience and rich clinical experience. He has gained wider recognition and praise among his colleagues, students and patients.
Graduated from Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, holding PhD degree of Oncology in Traditional Chinese Medicine. He was apprenticed by Xie Haizhou and Xu Zhensheng in Guang’anmen Hospital from 1985-1988, the latter being a last disciple of Fu Zhou Pu, a famous CM doctor in modern CM history. Since 1989, he has opened up his CM clinic in Melbourne, Australia.
Teaching experience: From 2005 to 2010, he taught CM course in the University of Victoria, Australia; 2006-2010, lecturer at Endeavour College of Natural Health
Content introduction:
Intractable Insomnia may be treated successfully with Chinese medicine, if we follow with classic Chinese medicine literature and its TCM thinking closely.
From the view point of Chinese Medicine, sleep problems are mostly related to dysfunction of “heaven and man”, that insomnia may not a disease itself. It does present as an indicator of the ageing process in the biological characteristics of the human body, and the constant inter-change of “Yin and Yang”.

“Miraculous Pivot” Literature Lecture Series (NSW):
The 2022 NSW “Miraculous Pivot” Nei Jing Literature Lecture, the third lecture series of the fourth quarter, will be hold on 18 07 2022 as anticipated!
The CM classic literature study is a must for every aspiring CM practitioner to become an excellent CM physician. It is regrettable that many CM practitioners who has worked many years in their career yet to fully explore into this field.
Indeed, classical literature study is a lifetime endeavour for Chinese medicine practitioners. It is a blessing for our members that Dr. Wei Guoqing, and excellent and experienced CM practitioner will be our lecturer and mentor for these classes.
This “Miraculous Pivot/Ling Shu” literature class is initialised and promoted by the NSW Branch of CMASA. It is designed for acupuncturists and massage therapists to build their Chinese medicine thinking, improve clinical skills, enhance clinical problem solving ability, and possibly increase their income.
Thank you for your enrolment and participation to this classical literature study journey. Details of the remaining classes of the 4th term are as follows:
